Wind Chimes, the Gift of Music
About Me
Wind Chimes, the Gift of Music

Ever since childhood, I’ve been a musical person. At the age of seven, I started taking piano lessons. When I was a teenager, I began singing solos at community events. Not surprisingly, I adore wind chimes. Every time the wind blows, these beautiful music makers spring into action. Their soothing, melodious, and high pitched sound calms and refreshes me. I am amazed at the amount of eclectic wind chimes available for sale at various retailers. One can enjoy the music of pig, cat, or even seashell themed wind chimes. If you know someone who enjoys natural harmonies, wind chimes make a perfect gift. On this blog, you will discover how to buy the right set of wind chimes for your loved one. Enjoy!

How to Fit In When Country Line Dancing for the First Time

Tyler Morgan

Country line dancing is a lot of fun, not to mention a great way to meet new people and burn calories at the same time. But if you've never gone before, you may be worried about not fitting in or embarrassing yourself as a newbie. Luckily, country line dancers tend to be a friendly group and with these five tips you'll really have no trouble fitting in anyway:

Snag a Great Pair of Cowboy Boots

Now's the time to grab that cool pair of cowboy boots you've always wanted. They will not only help you look the part, but the smooth soles are ideal for spinning across the dance floor. Best of all, you can wear them with a variety of outfits even when you're not going dancing. Find a great pair o f boots at websites like http://www.cowpokesonline.com.

Dress the Part

Most guys will be wearing jeans with a button-down shirt. For bonus points, try a snap-button, western-inspired shirt and a leather belt with a cool buckle. Ladies can also wear button-down tops with jeans, shorts, or skirts. Just be sure you're able to move easily in whatever you wear.

Get There Early for Lessons

Many country line dancing nights include free lessons for beginners early in the event. This is a great way to learn the basic moves so that once the actual dance starts you'll know what you're doing. It's also a good way to meet a few other newbies, especially since line dancing is a very social form of dance.

Practice at Home First

If you don't think a lesson beforehand is going to be quite enough practice, you can always try practicing at home on your own.  You can purchase instructional videos online or simply watch free YouTube videos and imitate what you see the dancers doing. The best part about this is that it can be done in the comfort of your own home without anyone watching your rookie mistakes.

Know the Etiquette

One surefire way to stick out as a line dancing newbie is to disregard the dance floor etiquette. For example, though you may want to have a drink to calm your nerves, it's considered bad form to bring your glass on the dance floor with you. This handy list of line dancing etiquette rules has other faux pas to look out for.

By following these five tips, you'll be sure to fit in and have a blast your first time country line dancing
